Dear james I read your Opinion about keeping the Professional polo player out of the Polo Club sytem and you have a few valid points but none that should be of concern. Professionals I agree all to often fly in fly out of what they consider practice tournaments which for others on the ground are far from practice tournaments indeed the highlight of their club calender. This I agree is a practice that should cease, How you do that is a problem. Apart from shackling them to the pony truck with a pair of cobbles I have no answer. But what you are missing is the excitement and beauty of having one of these top line players come and demonstrate first hand a level of polo we would never have the opportunity to enjoy at most clubs. Professionals have an open door at our club and we still have plenty of players and supporters to celebrate with after the match. I am sorry to hear your story but perhaps you may value what they do bring to your neck of the woods if you are so lucky.
